Job Summary
Applications are invited for a full‑time post‑CCT fellowship in Interventional Radiology, offering specialist skill development across vascular and oncological procedures.
The successful applicant will join a large team of interventional radiologists across two sites – the brand‑new Royal Liverpool Hospital and the upgraded Aintree IR theatres – including a new hybrid vascular theatre at Aintree Hospital.
They will be expected to join the directly consultant‑supervised cross‑site registrar IR on‑call rota (1 in 6).
Responsibilities
* Work cross‑site to maximize specialist services at each location.
* Perform vascular procedures such as EVAR, ChEVAR, FEVAR, TEVAR and visceral branch interventions.
* Perform oncological interventions including TACE, portal vein embolisation, SIRT, and ablation of lung, liver and kidney tumours.
* Assist with other vascular and non‑vascular interventions: PAE, UFE, trauma embolisations, AVM treatments, fistula work, PTC, among others.
* Maintain diagnostic radiology reporting skills with dedicated sessions.
* Participate in angio suite presence, reporting, vetting and queries as part of the “doctor of the day” rota.
* Contribute to audit and research activities.
* Provide care for acutely unwell patients during the on‑call rota.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full GMC registration.
* Within 6 months of achieving CCT in the 6‑year RCR Interventional Radiology training scheme.
* Equivalent radiology training experience considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
Full‑time position with support from dedicated procedural assistants and reporting staff.
