Job Description – Qualified Dental Nurse (with Radiography Certificate)

About Us
We are a modern, welcoming dental practice in Bournemouth with seven fully equipped surgeries and a large, supportive team. Our principal dentist is an Educational Supervisor for foundation dentists, and our practice has recently expanded to include specialist services such as orthodontics, implants, and endodontics.
We continue to expand our range of services and will shortly be installing our new CBCT machine, providing further opportunities for professional development and exposure to advanced dental care.
We also have a dedicated decontamination nurse each day, meaning you can focus more on what matters most: patient care.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Dental Nurse with extended duties in radiography to join our growing team. With our upcoming CBCT installation, this role will particularly suit a nurse who is confident and experienced in radiography.
This is a varied position that will also include opportunities to take on reception and some Treatment Coordinator (TCO) duties for implants and endodontics, offering a wider skill set and career progression within the practice.
Hours
* Monday – Thursday: 8.15am – 5.20pm
* Friday: 8.15am – 5.00pm
• Applicants must be available for a minimum of 4 days per week
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality chairside support to dentists and ensure patient comfort throughout appointments.
* Assist in a wide range of treatments, including general dentistry, orthodontics, implants, and endodontics.
* Carry out radiography duties as required, in line with GDC and IRMER guidelines (including support for advanced imaging such as CBCT).
* Support reception by welcoming patients, managing appointments, and handling enquiries professionally.
* Take on TCO responsibilities, including discussing treatment options with patients, providing information packs, and supporting patients in their treatment journey.
* Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records.
* Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and colleagues.
* Demonstrate excellent nursing skills by monitoring patient wellbeing and responding promptly to needs.
