We are seeking an M&E Project Manager to join us to help us create a hassle free environment for our clients and engineers.

The M&E Project Manager will oversee Mechanical & Electrical works, refurbishments, new installations and minor projects ranging from values of £25k-1m.

1. Location: Science and Technology Facility Council, Harwell, Didcot
2. Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday, 40 Hours
3. Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

The M&E Project Manager shall:

4. Undertake the management of all site staff relating to projects under your control.
5. Drive planning of project.
6. Attend preconstruction site visits with the client, commercial team and supply chain.
7. Liaise with clients, design teams, and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, technical solutions, and delivery plans
8. Manage and control all project resources.
9. Be responsible for the overall management of the project/s
10. Ensure all Company Procedures are being complied with
11. Ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are followed
12. Be responsible for achieving high standards of quality and workmanship on site
13. Ensure that all aspects of the project are effectively monitored and controlled
14. Deliver project within programme and budget
15. Ensure adherence to site specific project protocol and procedures
16. Manage and monitor subcontractors
17. Communicate effectively with the project management team
18. Attend and chair regular project progress meetings and compile progress reports for presentation to the Client
19. Prepare and manage project documentation, including RAMS, cost reports, risk registers, and programme updates.
20. Attend and chair regular sub-contractor meetings as required
21. Compile and distribute project meeting minutes
22. Maintain contractual records of all project related matters (Cemar)
23. Attend and provide input on regular contract meetings with the Client
24. Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate
25. Positively promote the company wherever and whenever possible
26. Compile and submit O&M manuals upon project completion
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the job title and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

About You

Essential Criteria

27. Demonstrate previous experience in a Project Management role.
28. Demonstrate strong communication and management skills.
29. Demonstrate knowledge in construction design management (CDM)
30. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating, etc.)
31. Experience in the delivery of commercial projects up to a value of £1mil
32. Ability to manage and deliver numerous concurrent projects of varying financial values and scope
33. Knowledge / understanding of NEC 4 contracts (preferable)
34. Ability to plan and programme projects using MS Project (displaying slippage and float)
35. Excellent IT skills I.E Microsoft Office
