Video Lead

Brentford FC has an exciting opportunity for someone with an in-depth knowledge of video production and football, and a passion for digital content, to join our content team.

In this varied role, you will be producing high performing digital content, establishing creative best practice and optimisation across the major social platforms and Brentford FC's owned platforms. You will harness trends, innovate content capture and continue to grow Brentford's worldwide digital audience.

The successful candidate will work within the Content Team and report in to the Social Content Lead.

Salary range £40k - £45k

Key Responsibilities

* Experienced in leading on shoots from conceptualization to shooting, through editing to delivery. Be comfortable and confident directing shoots featuring members of the club's teams
* Be a senior figure within the Video team. Manage, mentor and provide leadership to two more junior members of the team. Advise best practice, conceptualise innovative concepts and ensure capture is of highest standard
* Provide an editorial mindset and build out concepts; identify opportunities and be able to evidence why that content will drive business objectives
* Contribute to, deliver against and implement the club's content strategy to maintain the club's growth and its relationship with its partners
* Manage a rota for matchday coverage. Capture match and fan footage suitable for a variety of channels and campaigns
* Cover club announcements (transfers, contracts, appointments, departures, statements, achievements)
* Be proficient in using the latest Sony camera systems – FX30, A7siii, FS series
* Skilled in editing using the Adobe suite of programs (Premiere Pro, After effects (basic), Lightroom)
* Must have knowledge of lighting setups in order to ensure maximum production value
* Evidence a high attention to detail for camera settings and edits. Ensure content captured is suitable for a Premier League club's social channels
* Maintain, own and evolve existing Brentford FC content series e.g. Inside Brentford, Brentford Breakdown, long form documentaries
* Capture and edit content for the club's social media channels including, in particular, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube and Threads
* Produce, curate and publish content focused on storytelling; grow the club's reach and communicate the club's brand whilst increasing platform revenues
* Use existing opportunities such as Premier League media days to capture player content for club channels
* Work with the partnerships and marketing departments to support campaigns that engage Brentford FC audiences on social media and owned channels that deliver against both club and partner objectives
* Help establish and maintain the club's tone of voice, and brand values, within captured and produced content
* Ensure that all contact with players complies with the Club's Safeguarding Policy and that any concerns are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels

Knowledge

* Strong knowledge and experience of social media platforms
* To be successful in this role, you will have a strong passion, knowledge and interest in football
* Experience filming live sport
* Previous experience delivering content and a social strategy for a sporting team/organisation or other fast-moving fan-facing environment
* Native user of key social channels
* An understanding of key broader marketing principles or experience in a marketing-led role would be an advantage

Specialist Skills

* Proficient in Adobe Creative suite apps; Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop in particular
* Very strong content editing skills. Aware of best practice on each platform
* Comfortable with a variety of cameras and equipment required for content capture in a number of locations
* Camera expert and enthusiast. Familiar shooting on Sony is preferable
* Track record of creating and innovating content for channels with large audiences

People Skills

* Flexible and willing to work around the football calendar, including weekends and evenings
* Above all else, team-first collaborator, who's first interest is the success of the Content Team and Club
* A passion for storytelling and content creation
* Strong communicator, able to clearly express and deliver content ideas for a Premier League football club
* Comfortable operating in a highly-pressurised and fast-moving environment
* Ability to turnaround features/work against tight deadlines and able to respond to quick changes
* Creative personality looking to generate original content for club channels for all departments

External Impact

* As the Video Lead, you will be responsible for the look and feel of the club's video output; ensuring it reflects Brentford's values and has an impact across club channels.
* In your role you will builds relationships with influencers, creators, agencies, and brand partners. Your relationships will help to amplify the Club's reach and engagement
