Nurse Assessor / Functional Assessor – Hybrid / Fareham
£39,000 – £41,500 + £2,000 approval bonus + performance bonus + benefits
Use your clinical skills - without shifts, weekends, or hands-on care. We’re recruiting Registered Nurses and other registered healthcare professionals for a hybrid Functional Assessor role based in Fareham.
Role overview
Full-time or part-time permanent role, Monday–Friday. Hybrid working with typically 2 days per week onsite in Fareham. Assessments completed via telephone, video, or face-to-face. All appointments pre-booked. No treatment, no prescribing, and no manual handling—just assessment, clinical reasoning, and report writing.
What you’ll need
* Must be registered as one of: Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) – NMC; Physiotherapist – HCPC; Occupational Therapist – HCPC; Paramedic – HCPC; Pharmacist – GPhC
* Minimum 12 months post-registration experience
* Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
* Confidence with report writing and IT systems
* Ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment
* You must have the right to work in the UK
* Sponsorship is not available for this role
What you’ll do
* Carry out structured assessments to understand how a person’s physical or mental health condition affects their day-to-day functioning.
* Conduct structured clinical conversations using professional judgement
* Review medical evidence and supporting documentation
* Produce clear, objective, evidence-based written reports
* Use secure clinical systems and digital templates
* Contribute reports used to support formal disability benefit decisions
* No hands-on treatment. No prescribing. No on-call. No manual handling.
Pay, progression & benefits
* £39,000 – £41,500 salary
* £2,000 approval bonus
* Up to 10% annual bonus based on quality and performance
* Structured pay progression and salary reviews
* 25 days’ annual leave + bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time)
