Business Support Officer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and financial support within a busy team environment.
This role requires someone with strong finance and invoicing experience, alongside excellent organisational and note-taking skills. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing and providing effective administrative support to managers and service leads.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing invoices and supporting financial administration tasks
* Raising purchase orders and reconciling payments
* Maintaining accurate financial records and spreadsheets
* Supporting budget monitoring and reporting processes
* Providing general administrative support to the wider team
* Preparing meeting documentation and agendas
* Taking accurate minutes and distributing notes promptly
* Managing correspondence, emails, and diary coordination
* Updating databases and maintaining confidential records
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in a finance or invoicing role
* Strong understanding of financial processes within an office environment
* Experience raising purchase orders and processing invoices
* Excellent note-taking and minute-taking skills
* Strong administrative and organisational abilities
* Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Desirable
* Experience working within a Local Authority or public sector setting
* Experience using financial management systems

* Location: SE6 4RU
* Contract: 6 Month Contract, with the possibility of an extension
* Hours: 35 hours per week
* Pay Rate: £17.78 per hour
