SEN Teaching Assistant – EYFS Experience

Uniform Education is recruiting a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist provision in Kingston. The school provides a nurturing environment where children with additional needs are supported to develop their learning, communication, and independence.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support children with SEN in EYFS or early primary classes on a 1:1 and small-group basis
*
Assist the teacher in delivering play-based and sensory learning activities
*
Use approaches such as visual supports, Makaton, and structured routines to aid understanding
*
Encourage communication, social interaction, and independence skills
*
Support with personal care or additional needs where required
*
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to meet children’s EHCP targets
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children in EYFS (nursery, reception, or early primary) – ideally within an SEN setting
*
A nurturing, patient, and creative approach to learning
*
Confidence using play-based, sensory, and structured approaches
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills
*
Willingness to assist with personal care when required
*
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
