Out of Hours School Farm & Small Animal Carer (Brynllywarch Hall School)
* Relief Hours (Up to maximum of 10 hours per week)
About the role: Provide out of hours cover for the School Farm i.e. during evenings, weekends & holidays. If you have any questions about the role, please contact the school.
Your responsibilities will be:
1. Morning & Evening – attend to Small Animal Care Unit and School Farm.
2. Prepare food and feed and water indoor animals as directed by the Senior Management Team.
3. Let out goats, geese, ducks etc. daily, making sure food & water are available at all times.
4. Check boundaries are secure and ensure animals are safe.
5. Clean out pens, hutches, etc. as necessary and lay new bedding during weekends and school holidays.
6. Check for signs of illness or distress in the animals, notifying any concerns to a member of the Senior Management Team.
7. Be on call during evenings, weekends and holidays in case of emergencies, notifying any concerns to a member of the Senior Management Team.
8. Lock animals in at night.
9. Keep accurate records of herd, feeds and medication.
This position has a requirement for an Enhanced DBS Check
Service: Schools - Non Teaching
Salary: Grade 3, Point 3 to Point 4 £24,796 to £25,185 per annum pro rata / £12.85 to £13.05 per hour
