Assistant Accountant Newcastle upon Tyne Up to £30,000 + Excellent Benefits
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a well-established transport and logistics firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Offering a salary of up to £30,000, this office-based role is ideal for a finance professional looking to take the next step in their career. Youll join a growing business with a strong operational footprint across the UK, supporting the Company Accountant in a busy and varied finance function.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and reconciliations
2. Provide accurate financial data and reports to support senior leadership decision-making
3. Reconcile bank transactions and maintain accurate cash flow and spreadsheet records
4. Review and resolve aged AP/AR balances, debit notes, GRNI, and purchase orders
5. Offer cross-functional support during periods of leave, including supplier invoice processing and credit control
What Experience is Required
6. AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent
7. A minimum of 5 years experience in a finance role, ideally within an SME
8. Experience with Sage 50 and strong Excel skills

9. Salary: Up to £30,000

11. Office-based role, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

The office is based in Newcastle upon Tyne (NE27) and is easily commutable from:
Gateshead, Cramlington, Whitley Bay, North Shields, South Shields, Sunderland, Wallsend, and Blyth.
