About the Person We Support
We're looking for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to join our team in providing 1:1 support to a friendly, music-loving gentleman in his early 30s living in Gloucester.
This incredible individual lives with his supportive parents and is a proud dog dad to his much-loved companion so it's essential that you're comfortable around dogs. He enjoys music, bowling, spending time with his nieces, and staying active with a consistent, structured routine. He also works part-time at Inclusion Gloucester and is proud of the work he does there.
He is autistic, has ADHD, mild learning disabilities, and experiences anxiety and low mood. At times, he may express distress or frustration, which can lead to challenging behaviour including threats to harm himself or others. He requires a calm, confident, and empathetic support worker who can provide consistent reassurance, build trust, and de-escalate situations with compassion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include providing consistent emotional reassurance and 1:1 support, assisting with daily routines and personal care (including toileting and medication prompts), encouraging engagement in meaningful activities and community involvement, supporting behaviour that may challenge with calmness and empathy, and promoting independence through structured, purposeful days tailored to the individual's needs and interests.
Why Choose Prosperity Care & Wellbeing?
We believe that when you care for your team, they can care better for others. That's why we offer:
* A thorough induction and ongoing training

* Free online counselling and GP services
* Discounted gym membership (The Gym, Gloucester Quays)

* Enhanced DBS check paid for by us
