Join us as our Transport Shift Manager, based in our Sherburn-in-Elmet depot for our customer Wickes. Youll utilise driver resources, manage performance and will be a key asset to our operation running efficiently, whilst focusing on compliance, H&S and collaboration.
This is a full time, permanent position working Sunday to Thursday (10:00 to 18:00, although flexibility is required).

What youll do on a typical day:
Ensure Health & Safety and Safe Systems of Work are followed, including timely and accurate reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses
Build strong teamwork, morale and trusted relationships across drivers, transport colleagues and internal stakeholders
Lead, motivate and manage full-time and agency drivers and support staff to meet site and customer objectives and deadlines
Oversee weekly planning, driver telematics performance, and on-time departures to maintain operational efficiency
Manage legal compliance, audits, and people-related matters such as absence and disciplinaries in line with company procedures
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Proven supervisory experience within a transport environment, with strong understanding of legal requirements, operational processes and customer needs
Confident in priotising and adapting to an ever-evolving operation
Effective time-planner with the ability to balance workloads, meet deadlines and demonstrate strong commercial awareness
Able to build strong, professional relationships with internal and external customers by demonstrating integrity, credibility and clear operational knowledge
