Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Design team based in Liverpool. The team designs a wide range of building types and site redevelopments across various construction sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial, for both public and private clients. What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you'll support the Civil and Structural Engineering team by producing and reviewing structural design calculations, drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating structural engineering design information within the team and with other disciplines such as architecture, landscape architecture, and building services engineering
* Developing and implementing structural concept design strategies, ensuring sustainability and low carbon targets are met
* Visiting sites for surveys and inspections, meeting with designers and clients, and representing the team at project meetings
* Mentoring junior engineers and technicians as part of professional development initiatives
* Assisting with obtaining necessary approvals for structural designs through Building Control and other statutory processes
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you:
* Possess a BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng in Structural or Civil Engineering, or hold Chartered Engineer status (CEng), or are a Member or Associate Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers
* Have relevant experience in structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design according to British/European standards, with knowledge of CDM regulations and UK construction techniques
* Have a full driving license for site visits and meetings
