Maths Teacher – Alternative Provision (KS3/KS4)
Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to be permanent)
Start Date: September 2025

Hays Education are working in partnership with a high-performing alternative provision academy in Macclesfield to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, initially on a temporary basis, with the potential to be permanent for the right candidate.
About the SchoolThis innovative and inclusive school provides education for students aged 13–16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream settings. Many pupils have SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and the school offers a trauma-informed, restorative approach to learning and behaviour. Key features include:

About the Role
6. Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE Maths.
7. Support students with a range of additional needs, including low prior attainment, anxiety, and behavioural challenges.
8. Use creative and flexible teaching strategies to re-engage learners and close gaps in knowledge.
9. Work collaboratively with pastoral staff, SEN specialists, and external agencies.
10. Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
11. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
12. A strong understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practice, and inclusive teaching methods.
13. Excellent classroom management and the ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable learners.
14. A flexible, resilient, andpassionate approach to education.
15. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
