Based in Cricklade, Wiltshire, Thamesdown Recycling are recruiting for a HR Advisor to join our successful family run business.
Salary: 26k - 33k pro rata
Monday to Friday – 9am to 2pm (Negotiable)
Maternity cover (12 months)
Start Date: August 2025
Responsibilities
* Working autonomously as a standalone HR function
* Proactively advise line managers on employee relation issues such as, disciplinaries, performance, sickness absence management etc.
* Manage absence management procedures and follow up actions as required
* Responsible for all grievances, the full disciplinary procedure and all ER casework
* Manage end to end employee life-cycle including recruitment
* Produce and issue all HR literature
* Maintain the HR database
* To provide full administrative support to the Compliance Advisor, fielding queries and pass on messages in his absence.
* Attend employment law updates at off-site premises.
* Maintain and produce, procedure’s, policies and instructions to ensure compliance with organisation and legislative requirements.
* Advise the Assistant Operations Manager, and the Logistics Manager in a timely manner of the requirement for training, including all refresher training.
* Completing the staff weekly payroll.
* Liaise with the Accounts Department on matters relating to staff earnings and pension queries.
* Attend all management meetings, including biannually health and safety meeting.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a HR Advisor / Compliance role (E)
* Ability to self-motivate (E)
* CIPD Level 3 (E)
* CIPD Level 5 (D)
* Excellent communication skills – Both verbally and written (E)
* Competent in using the Microsoft Office Suite (E)
* Experience in using HR database’s such as Sage HR (D)
