Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Bradford Beacon School, Rooley Lane, Bradford, BD5 8LJ
Hours: 40 per week | Monday to Friday
Rota: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:00am–4:00pm | Tuesday 8.00am - 4.30pm| Fri 8:00am–3:30pm
Salary: £23,638.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: March 2026

About the Role
This is an opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school environment where you can make a meaningful difference to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.
You will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged while encouraging their independence and personal development.
You will:
Support pupils with Special Educational Needs in accessing lessons and learning activities
Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies and learning plans
Provide one-to-one or small group support to reinforce learning and develop key skills
Help pupils manage emotional regulation, social interaction, and behaviour in a positive way
Adapt classroom resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
Support pupils with personal care, communication needs, and sensory regulation where required
Encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement in both classroom and wider school activities
We would love to hear from candidates who:
Hold GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths or equivalent
Have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, ideally in a school, specialist provision, or care setting
Are patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Are adaptable and able to respond positively to a range of learning and behavioural needs
Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents
Are confident supporting structured learning activities as well as sensory, practical, and outdoor experiences
Are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs to reach their full potential

Bradford Beacon School, opened in September 2025, is a brand-new specialist independent school for children aged 4–11 with autism and associated complex needs. Set in a purpose-built, thoughtfully refurbished environment, the school provides a safe, nurturing, and inclusive setting where every child feels valued. Pupils follow a broad, enriched curriculum that develops communication, social, emotional, and life skills alongside academic achievement. With personalised teaching and therapeutic support from a dedicated staff and clinical team, every child’s individual needs are met. As the school grows to 42 pupils over the next two years, there is an exciting opportunity to help shape its inclusive, supportive culture.
