Overview
Social Media Support Officer role at Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. The salary is up to £24,187 - £25,799 per annum. The Virtual Village Hall (VVH) is the main RVS live online interactive platform used to support people in communities across the nation and to collaborate with the NHS and health care systems.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Job Description
The VVH Social Media Support Officer will schedule and run the daily live sessions on the Virtual Village Hall across all platforms, act as a key contact and support for tutors, monitor interactions across VVH social platforms, and contribute to content creation to support the social media officer. They will be a key member of the VVH team providing input into planning and developments and sourcing new diverse and inclusive content.
Job Responsibilities
* Social media – schedule VVH sessions on all platforms, communicate with tutors, perform copywriting, create posts, and use StreamYard to schedule. Daily running of live and pre-recorded sessions, assisting tutors live, respond to comments, manage interactions, and flag safeguarding issues with the manager. Utilize StatusBrew.
* Monitoring and analysis – keep central files updated with final videos and supporting documentation. Monitor and track comments for feedback and potential case studies; highlight these to the wider team for discussion and follow-up.
* Technology – provide feedback to assist in plans to grow and improve the VVH; maintain professional development to keep up-to-date in a fast-moving environment.
* Communication – ensure consistent tone of voice across all VVH platforms; communicate clearly and empathetically with internal and external stakeholders, including vulnerable service users, tutors, volunteers and staff; pursue case study opportunities.
* Content and tutors – provide recommendations for new content based on analysis of feedback and trends; assist in sourcing new tutors with diverse backgrounds and skills.
Qualifications and Experience
This is what we’re looking for:
Knowledge
* Experience of working in a social media environment with platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
* Knowledge of a fast-moving digital environment and social media marketing & engagement.
* Knowledge of current and emerging social media trends and how to apply them to the organisation’s brand, values and audience.
Skills
* Experience of writing effective copy for social media platforms.
* Experience with Facebook Live Producer and third-party streaming platforms such as StreamYard.
* Knowledge of tools to manage social media platforms such as StatusBrew and Hootsuite.
* Creative skills to generate imagery and assist with video and audio content; familiarity with editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
Experience
* Experience of using multiple social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok).
* Experience in creating short-form content for reels, YouTube Shorts and TikToks.
* Experience using social media management tools such as Orlo and Hootsuite.
* Experience using Meta Business Suite, Instagram Insights, TikTok Creator Studio, and YouTube Studio to analyse content performance.
* Experience of working effectively from home, managing workload and collaborating within a remote team.
