Competitive salary, mobile phone & service vehicle As an engineer, you'll be responsible for making sure plant machinery and equipment runs smoothly Your role involves servicing and repairing equipment and attending site for breakdowns. You will require to have experience and knowledge in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or computerised systems. The role also involves some vehicle maintenance. Your duties will involve: Organising routine servicing schedules Fitting new parts Carrying out machine inspections Responding immediately to equipment breakdowns Fixing faults or arranging for replacements to be installed Keeping managers informed of progress Making scheduled checks on machinery and parts Finding and fixing faults and recalibrating instruments Oiling and cleaning machinery and parts Overhauling and replacing parts according to schedule Welding Fabricating Electrical fault finding Responding immediately to machinery breakdowns On call duties You will work as part of a team of engineering technicians and fitters You could be indoors in the workshop or outdoors servicing equipment on a building site No day is ever the same Experience with road construction equipment is an advantage The ideal candidate would have: Experience with plant equipment Good practical and technical skills Ability in maths, science and IT Communication skills An understanding of engineering drawings and principles The ability to work quickly and under pressure The ability to manage a varied workload Good problem-solving skills The initiative to work on your own or as part of a team An awareness of health and safety legislation Good eyesight and normal colour vision Full UK driving licence In this role, there is an abundance of overtime available along with on call duties.
