Animal Collection Officer
3 full-time 12 month temporary contracts

West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint Police Kennel animal collection officers, based within the Yorkshire and Humber Region. There are 3, 12 month temporary contract roles available.
The role of the Animal Collection Officer involves working as part of small team responsible for the daily care and welfare of seized dogs that are kennelled at the Unit. This includes regular exercising of the dogs, feeding and general cleaning duties at the kennels.
It also involves attending and collecting animals from locations across West Yorkshire and safely returning them to the kennels and, when necessary, returning animals. It also involves organising and transporting animals for veterinary assessment.
The role involves working effectively as part of a team and being able to work independently when required. As such, a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated individual is being sought. The role can be physically demanding and that should be considered for any potential candidates. We are looking for candidates who are prepared to work flexible hours to suit the requirements of the business, we operate working a 24/7 shift pattern. Plus a 20% shift allowance and 13.89% weekend enhancement, as applicable
Essential Skills:-
Experience of previously working with dogs
Physically capable of maintaining kennels and surrounding areas
Ability to work shift patterns throughout the whole week
This role requires ongoing Health Surveillance commencing prior to appointment in line with HSE guidance/legislation
Ability to work across the Yorkshire and Humber Region as and when required
Desirable skills
Experience of previously working with other animals (excluding dogs)
Possess Current UK/Euro Driving Licence for over 12 months
