Senior IT Project Manager – Specialty Insurance (PAS)
Contract | £710 per day | 12 months | Hybrid (London)
We are working with a leading global specialty insurance organisation to appoint a Senior IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of critical policy administration and product transformation initiatives across European markets.
This is a long-term contract role (12 months) covering a key programme with an established delivery team. The project has been running for several years and is now entering a critical delivery phase.
The Role
You will take ownership of a complex IT transformation programme focused on implementing and enhancing Policy Administration Systems (PAS) for specialty insurance products. You will lead a cross-functional delivery team including Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and Test Managers, working closely with business stakeholders and third-party vendors.
This role is best suited to a senior, hands-on delivery Project Manager with strong insurance domain knowledge, particularly in specialty, MGA, or Lloyd’s markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of enterprise-scale IT and digital transformation projects in specialty insurance
* Own project planning, scheduling, resourcing, dependencies, and budget management
* Manage risks, issues, scope, and change control processes
* Engage stakeholders and steering committees; provide structured progress reporting
* Manage third-party vendors and system integrators
* Oversee bespoke software development and system integration in an Agile delivery environment
* Drive benefits realisation and ensure alignment with business objectives
* Handle escalations with senior stakeholders and sponsors
Essential Experience
* 5+ years as an IT Project Manager delivering complex enterprise systems
* Recent experience in Insurance (Commercial / Specialty / MGA / Lloyd’s)
* Proven PAS (Policy Administration System) implementation experience – mandatory
* Strong change and transformation delivery background
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
* Experience working with global teams and matrix organisations
Desirable Experience
* Agile / SCRUM delivery experience
* Deep understanding of MGA and Specialty Insurance operating models
* Experience delivering digital or core platform transformation in commercial insurance
* 10+ years IT/digital project delivery experience
Contract Details
* Rate: £710 per day (inside/outside IR35 TBC depending on setup)
* Duration: 12 months (strong extension potential)
* Start: ASAP / February 2026
* Location: Hybrid – up to 2 days per week in London
* Team: Business Analyst, Solution Architect, Test Manager
