Rowe Referrals is recruiting an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse with anaesthesia experience to join our referral centre in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, UK. This role offers the opportunity to shape our anaesthesia & analgesia service. The ideal candidate has experience within an anaesthesia team and holds or is working towards a certificate or master's qualification in anaesthesia.
Rowe Referrals is a multidisciplinary practice based in North Bristol, offering expertise in various specialities including soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, neuro-diagnostics, dentistry, and internal medicine. We provide outstanding client service in a supportive environment, equipped with advanced facilities such as MRI, CT, ultrasonography, and an on-site laboratory. We operate 24/7 with a dedicated team of skilled nurses and support staff.

Our referral department comprises 5 clinicians, 5 nurses, and a dedicated ophthalmology team, supported by state-of-the-art technology like the Oertli OS4 phaco/VR machine, endolaser, high-frequency ultrasound, and ERG. Our clinicians are committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Role overview
The Anaesthesia-Focused RVN will collaborate with the Clinical Director and clinicians to deliver high-quality patient care within the anaesthesia & analgesia service. Responsibilities include patient preparation, monitoring sedation and general anaesthesia, equipment maintenance, line placements, ward nursing, surgical support, record-keeping, and teamwork. You will also train and develop team members to ensure excellent patient care. While your primary focus is anaesthesia & analgesia, assistance in other areas within your capability may be required.
Working hours/rota
Full-time hours between 8AM and 7PM, depending on rota needs. There is a 1:6 weekend on-call commitment. Support outside normal hours may be expected.
Key responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care in anaesthesia and analgesia, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure patient safety. Perform techniques like arterial and central line placements (training provided), administer advanced analgesia, monitor recovery, and keep accurate records. Participate in team meetings and continually develop your nursing skills through role swaps and training.
