Anaesthetic Practitioner.
Permanent: Part-time 28.5 hours / 3 days per week

We are looking for a Scrub Practitioner to join our team. As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard.
This is a part-time position, 28.5 hours per week. Shifts are worked over 3 days between Monday - Saturday from 7am -5:30pm

* Salary: £29,913.70 per year - based on 28.5 hours per week.
* 25 days annual leave. Increasing by 1 day at 3,5,10 and 15 years service + Bank Holidays

What you’ll be doing
Clinical & Professional Role
* To be competent in all aspects of anaesthetic technique and procedures.
* To work as a skilled member of the theatre team, and be responsible for the assessment of care given to patients within the operating theatre and other areas where an anaesthetic service is required.
* To maintain accurate clinical observation of the patient’s condition and alert medical staff when required.
* To take responsibility in ensuring the safe, effective and efficient management of allocated resources within anaesthetics.
* With regards to patient safety, to effectively communicate the accurately recorded data within the Theatre/Anaesthetic multidisciplinary team, updating and revising care as appropriate.
* To supervise the work of junior and unqualified colleagues in the assessment of patients and advise appropriately, providing specialist knowledge in assessing and interpreting acute conditions.
What we’ll look for in you
* Part 1 Registered NMC Nurse or an Operating Department Practitioner with experience of working in Orthopaedics
* Effective communication skills, verbal and written, to include report writing and record keeping.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and multidisciplinary team.
* Effective computer / IT skills and expectation to develop these in line with the needs of the service.
* Sound knowledge of the guidelines set out in the NMC/HCPC code of professional conduct and current perioperative issues.
* Excellent organisational skills, proven ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure.
