Marketing Manager – Social Media, Content & Campaigns
Salary: up to £50,000 basic + benefits
Location: Hybrid, Welwyn Garden City base (2 days per week in office)
Start: Short notice preferred (1 month or less)
Travel: Regular UK travel to sites for content capture
Visa: Unfortunately, no sponsorship available
We’re working with a fast-scaling, consumer-facing organisation with a strong presence across multiple UK locations. They’ve passed the “small business” stage a while ago (turnover is now north of £100m), but culturally they still feel much closer to a start-up than a corporate.
What that means in practice: things move quickly, priorities can shift, and you’ll sometimes need to be a bit scrappy to get great work out the door. If you’re someone who needs heavy process, layers of sign-off and everything perfectly polished before it ships, this probably won’t be your place. If you like momentum, ownership and building as you go, it’ll make a lot of sense.
The role
This is a hands-on marketing position with a strong digital and social media lean. You’ll help drive local performance across a multi-site setup, getting bums on seats for events as well as creating and executing campaigns over multiple channels, with a heavy lean on social channels to drive customer enquiries and sign-ups, while also strengthening brand consistency and presence online.
A big part of the remit is content marketing: planning it, creating it, and getting out on-site to capture it. That might be a structured shoot, a launch event, or simply gathering real-world moments that translate well into social media channels and paid activity.
What you’ll be doing
1. Owning and delivering B2C marketing campaigns that generate measurable demand (with a proper eye on outcomes, not just activity).
2. Managing and improving social media performance, including content planning, community engagement, and raising the quality bar across channels.
3. Producing content with a “creator” mindset: short-form video, photography, reels-style updates, event coverage and on-the-ground storytelling.
4. Travelling to UK locations to capture content and support local marketing initiatives.
5. Working closely with key stakeholders to align messaging, timing and priorities across different sites.
6. Coordinating agencies or freelancers where needed, and keeping projects moving at pace.
7. Tracking performance and sharing clear insights on what’s working, what isn’t, and what to do next.
What they’re looking for
8. Solid marketing experience in a B2C environment, ideally where you’ve supported multiple locations / sites or regional operations.
9. A genuine interest in social media and content creation (we don’t mean hardcore videographer, but you should be comfortable producing and directing content).
10. Confidence working in a fast-moving environment, where you’ll sometimes have to make sensible calls without perfect information.
11. A practical, sleeves-rolled-up style. Someone who can plan, but also execute.
12. Strong stakeholder skills, especially with operational teams who are busy and don’t want marketing to feel like “extra admin”.
13. Have worked with agencies before, instructing and critiquing their work. Project managing through to execution.
