About Cygnet Hospital Sheffield
Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers a low secure service for women and CAMHS services for male and female adolescents across three wards.
Pegasus Ward:
This ward provides CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, CAMHS acute, and low secure services. It offers individualised care for young people experiencing a mental health crisis, who cannot be supported in community settings or require longer inpatient stays. The services focus on creating safe, therapeutic environments to help young people stabilise so that hospital treatment is no longer necessary.
Your Day-to-Day
* Work 40 hours a week
* Collaborate as a team Psychologist within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
* Carry out psychological assessments and provide therapy to individuals and groups
* Develop care plans collaboratively with the MDT
* Provide training and supervision to colleagues, and consultation to teams
* Evaluate the service, contribute to its development, and conduct clinical research
* Disseminate outcomes via conference presentations and publications
Candidate requirements
* HCPC registered Clinical, Forensic, or Counselling Psychologist
* Experience in a CAMHS setting preferred but not essential
* Training in complex therapies such as Schema Focused, Cognitive Analytical, and DBT preferred
* Passionate about working with individuals with complex mental health needs
* Capable of treating issues like self-harm, aggression, sexual offending histories, and substance problems
