We have a new exciting opportunity with our client, a global bank, who is looking for an experienced 3-8PQE+ Banking Lawyer to join their legal team for 6 months, full-time!
Overview: Our client is looking for a mid-level banking lawyer for an initial period running to 30 June 2026 (and potential extension to end Q3 2026) to join their legal team supporting various regulatory projects. Candidate skillset should more closely align with general banking/transactional corporate banking rather than regulatory advisory.
Seniority: The resource will be expected to have 3-8 years of experience in a banking team in private practice and must have:
* Sound knowledge and experience of working with LMA facility documents and typical English law guarantee documents;
* Excellent analytical skills when reviewing finance documentation;
* Enthusiasm for understanding complex regulatory matters and making complex matters easier to apply for business use;
* Ability to communicate conclusions clearly and succinctly and be confident to discuss related matters with the business without the need for supervision;
* Confidence in working in a team environment and being comfortable with being required to follow a consistent protocol of service delivery for the project;
* Sound relationship-building skills;
* Experience in deal/project management;
* Food judgement to know when to escalate and not to be afraid to ask questions;
* Ability to think on own feet, but be comfortable consulting with other team members; and
* Ideally, some experience working with US financing documents.
Role:
* Working within a 7-person project legal team;
* Reviewing finance documentation to ascertain security/collateral coverage;
* Obtaining an understanding of credit risk policy and applying that to documentary review tasks and queries from the business;
* Liaison with business stakeholders to discuss conclusions and work through options;
* Applying external counsel advice and turning it into tools for front-line business use;
* Managing workflow from the business and interaction with external counsel.

* Duration: November 2025 - June 2026 (anticipated).
* Location: The resource will be located at Canary Wharf, Hybrid working, but 50% office attendance expected
* Admitted to Practice: Must be English law qualified (SRA Registered).
