Role Summary
The Powertrain Test Support Engineer is responsible for owning and managing end-to-end kitting activities in support of complex powertrain test programmes. This role ensures that all Units Under Test are fully supported with accurate Bills of Materials, complete kits, and timely delivery to enable test operations across battery, EDU, and engine environments.
Role and Responsibilities
* Own and manage the Bill of Materials for Units Under Test across Batteries, EDU, and Engine Test environments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and readiness.
* Coordinate procurement, ordering, tracking, and expediting of components through internal systems and external suppliers to meet test schedules.
* Work closely with test operations and engineering teams to translate test requirements into clear and executable kitting plans.
* Ensure all required components, tooling, and documentation are available to support planned test activity.
* Maintain and continuously improve kitting processes in line with defined procedures, identifying efficiency improvements where possible.
* Provide regular updates and reporting to the Central Planning Team on kit readiness, delivery status, and associated risks.
Qualifications
* Experience managing end-to-end test kitting processes within engineering or automotive testing environments.
* Strong understanding of powertrain systems, including Batteries, Electronic Drive Units, and Internal Combustion Engines.
* Experience creating, maintaining, and delivering Bills of Materials to support test operations.
* Familiarity with inventory management systems, procurement tools, and component tracking processes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data handling tools for managing kit lists and reporting.
* Ability to work independently, taking ownership for delivery and problem resolution.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
* Relevant engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
