Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: New Barn School, Welford, Newbury, RG20 8HZ
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30 and 1x5:00pm finish
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Job Purpose
1. To cover some timetabled classes throughout the week in addition to covering general absence etc.
2. Deliver high quality lessons and occasionally deal with challenging behaviour in the classroom.
3. Ensure all students are focused and on track to meeting the lesson objectives.
4. Prepare the classroom for lessons.
5. Help any students who are struggling with the work set for their cover lessons.
6. Undertake such duties as are delegated by SLT.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities will vary according to the school's needs and may be shared. Cover Supervisor responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out duties of a schoolteacher as set out in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
2. Carrying out the duties of a general class teacher as detailed in the school’s class teacher job description.
3. Teaching across Key Stages 3 & 4.
4. Maintaining and developing the ethos, values, and purposes of the school.
5. Formulating aims and objectives of the school and policies for their implementation.
6. Contributing to planning improvements to translate school aims into actions.
7. Implementing policies on equal opportunity issues for staff and pupils.
8. Organising, managing, and supervising school routines efficiently.
