High Street Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly team working between 24 - 28 hours per week at our main site in Cheslyn Hay and small branch site in Great Wyrley.
You will join our existing nursing team consisting of ACP, Practice nurse, HCA & phlebotomist
Our ideal candidate will have experience of practice nursing, including chronic disease management, asthma, COPD, diabetes, wound care and vaccinations.
We are happy to support training and development needs.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to work as part of theprimary healthcare team providing high quality General Medical Services to patients of the practice.
To be successful, the candidate must be a Registered General Nurse with experience of working in general practice and with chronic disease management, immunisations and cytology.
Experience of working with EMIS clinical system desirable.

Job responsibilities
Job responsibilities:
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care asdirected by GPs
* Cytology
* Removal of Sutures
* Asthma management
* Venepuncture
* Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are beingexamined by another clinician
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
* Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs asappropriate for the above.
* Other tasks will include:
* Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items asrequired
* Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of treatment rooms
* Maintain stock of waiting room leaflets as instructed by partnersand Practice Manager
* Ordering of any stock and supplies of consumables for thetreatment room
* Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
* Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
* At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
* A duty to advise GPs of potential problems or errors within arange of assigned tasks
* Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
* On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
* Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse
* Qualifications/Certificates in Chronic Disease Management, Immunisations & Cytology
* ENB 988 or equivalent
* A demonstrable commitment to professional development
Experience
* 2 years post registration experience
* Experience of working in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct
* General Practice Nursing experience
* Experience of working with EMIS Web clinical system
* Experience of Microsoft Office software
* Evidence of CPD
* Ability to give a high level of care to patients
* Excellent communications skillsq
* Evidence of a working knowledge in the following areas:
* - Chronic Disease Management
* - Cytology
* - Wound care
