This position is classified as an anywhere worker role, with an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office in Chelmsford two days per week, with the remaining time available for remote working, subject to organisational needs.

The Role
The Recruitment Support Adviser (RSA) will support Essex Shared Services, hiring managers, and candidates by providing professional, customer-focused operational support. Responsibilities include arranging interviews, processing temporary hires, and supporting temporary workers on-site. The RSA should possess a solid understanding of recruitment processes, legislation, and policies, and be confident in offering technical guidance to hiring managers.
Accountabilities
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end recruitment service for both temporary and permanent roles, advising and guiding stakeholders through the recruitment cycle, including employment law, policy, and legislation.
* Ensure adherence to ECC policies and promote inclusive, fair, and transparent recruitment practices, guiding hiring managers accordingly.
* Coordinate a high volume of interviews daily, providing detailed confirmations to candidates and managing interview logistics, including skills assessments, testing, presentations, and videoconferencing.
* Collaborate across recruitment teams to provide administrative and project support, contributing to special projects as required.
* Manage the full recruitment process for temporary hires, ensuring a positive onboarding experience and compliance with all requirements.
* Conduct IR35 checks for temporary hires and advise managers on legislation and policy compliance regarding intermediaries and HMRC requirements.
* Oversee weekly temporary payroll, resolving payment queries, invoicing, statutory deductions, and providing guidance to temporary workers.
* Manage ECC’s recruitment agency supply chain, including contractual compliance and performance monitoring.
* Handle shared inbox queries efficiently, ensuring timely responses or direct management of inquiries.
* Support temporary workers on-site, including managing extensions and documentation updates.
* Meet individual and team targets as set within the performance management framework.
The Experience You Will Bring
* Educated to RQF Level 3 or equivalent through experience.
* In-depth knowledge of recruitment legislation, including Agency Worker Regulations, the Equality Act, and IR35.
* Understanding of diversity, inclusion, and reasonable adjustments legislation.
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* A passion for HR and resourcing best practices, with a focus on service excellence and complex queries.
* Ability to quickly develop expertise in ECC policies related to temporary workers and provide technical advice.
* Highly motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven, with excellent prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, with experience in customer service and query resolution.
* Proven ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and clients.
