Customer Success Manager - Agriculture & Environment (Fresh Produce)
The Agriculture & Environment (Fresh Produce) Specialist provides expertise and insight to customers across the food supply chain. You will collect, interpret and analyse data related to sustainable farming practices, traceability and food safety. You will be the point of contact for Foods Connected customers on Fresh Produce and Environmental matters. Through collaboration with other teams, you will contribute to increasing the functionality of our tools and help customers develop stronger practices to implement these policies going forward. This role is performed in a consultative manner with customers and suppliers across the UK, Europe and globally.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* Policy Review, Business Insight and Consulting – 80%
* Provide customers with advice on sourcing, supply chains and production standards, sustainability considerations, research initiatives and policy development across product categories.
* Utilise subject matter expertise (e.g., production science, soil science, pesticide management) to undertake data analysis, interpretation and reporting to support customer initiatives, commitments and policy requirements.
* Benchmarking and horizon scanning of standards and practices pertinent to fresh produce production, including sustainability and food safety.
* Stay updated on activity and engage with relevant NGOs to provide customer policy and standard recommendations.
* Lead and implement programs, protocols or policies to drive improvement in production practices, sustainability and policies underpinning legislative changes.
* Collaborate with Project Management and Development teams to increase value from Foods Connected data for informed decision making and transparency of standards.
* Business Development – 10%
* Identify new opportunities within existing client portfolios.
* Support proposals across existing clients and new customers in collaboration with the Business Development team.
* Innovation – 10%
* Support innovation through trend analysis, identifying new opportunities, developing novel ideas and participating in idea generation to improve company processes and services.
Qualifications, Education, Training, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Subject Matter Expertise related to UK and ROW Fresh Produce supply chains from farm to further processing and packaging.
Preferred Qualifications And Experience
* Postgraduate qualification focused on Agriculture/Sustainability and regular contribution to industry publications.
* 5+ years experience within the Fresh Produce supply chain.
* Experience in the Food Industry and environmental themes such as soil health, responsible water use, pesticide use, regenerative agriculture and biodiversity.
* Experience communicating legislative/regulatory requirements across fresh produce supply chains.
* Engagement with agricultural and environmental issues, regulations and requirements for food suppliers and manufacturers from farming to retail.
* Evidence of delivering policy and/or standards innovation and improvement.
* Significant subject matter expertise relating to fresh produce and environmental initiatives (e.g., regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, responsible water use).
Technical Skills
* Knowledge of software solutions used across the Food Industry.
* Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Ability to learn new software and its application (Foods Connected system).
* Data analysis, interpretation and reporting.
