The Role and Candidate
We are hiring an experienced Regional Construction Project Manager to join our Europe Regional team. Based in our London office, this role will act as the engineering project lead for flagship store construction projects across Europe, while also providing supervision and support to country teams delivering standard-format stores.
This is a hands-on role combining engineering expertise, cross-market coordination, and end-to-end project execution. The ideal candidate has a strong track record in retail construction, understands regional variations across Europe, and can work efficiently with multicultural stakeholders and headquarters in Asia.
Responsibilities
Flagship Project Management
Coordinate with HQ in managing flagship store construction projects across Europe, managing the entire process from technical review to final delivery
Collaborate with HQ and design teams to localise construction plans in line with local regulations and landlord requirements
Review finalised blueprints and secure necessary permits and site access for construction commencement
Support bidding processes, assess contractor proposals, and provide regional recommendations to HQ
Support and Supervision of Local Projects
Provide technical guidance and oversight to country-level construction project teams managing compact and standard store formats
Ensure consistent construction quality, branding, materials, and timelines across all European markets
Assist local teams in troubleshooting complex site issues and escalate strategic risks when necessary
Establish robust progress monitoring systems, collect regular updates, analyse deviations between actual and planned timelines, and identify root causes
Project Execution and Monitoring
Coordinate with construction teams across countries to drive progress and cross-functional collaboration
Track project schedules, analyse deviations, and implement corrective actions such as workflow optimization or resource adjustment
Liaise with landlords and malls to obtain permits, site access, and technical approvals
Conduct regular site visits and report project status to HQ and regional management
Quality Assurance & Project Closure Management
Ensure project quality standards are met through routine inspections, technical oversight, and timely resolution of on-site issues and defects
Oversee critical construction components including material finishes, HVAC, fire safety systems, and equipment installation prior to handover
Lead internal final inspections and coordinate handover with retail and operations teams to ensure stores are fully ready for opening
Maintain accurate project documentation and conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future delivery across regions
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in retail construction project management, including hands-on management of flagship or high-profile stores
Demonstrated experience managing multi-country construction projects across Europe
In-depth knowledge of decorative materials, MEP, building codes, and quality control procedures
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to coordinate with HQ, landlords, contractors, and local authorities
Proficient in reviewing architectural and engineering drawings
Skilled in CAD, MS Office, and project management tools
Self-starter with a structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to travel across Europe for site supervision and coordination
Proficiency in speaking writing English
PMP or other relevant certifications are desirable
Desirable but Not Essential
Multi-lingual ability (Chinese preferred; other European languages are a plus)
Familiarity with landlord technical guidelines in major European shopping centres or high streets
Previous experience working with or reporting to Asia-based headquarters
PMP or equivalent project management certifications
