The Role
This school is looking for a committed and inspiring Food and Design Technology teacher to join their Design Technology department, delivering Food and Design Technology, including GCSE Resistant Materials / Engineering Design. The successful candidate will help maintain and build on strong academic outcomes in Food and Design Technology, working within a vibrant and aspirational school. This is a permanent position starting January 2026.
The School
This is a mixed secondary school and Sixth Form in Luton, Bedfordshire, catering for around 1,470 students aged 11–18. The school was most recently inspected by Ofsted in 2024 and judged Good in all areas, with inspectors highlighting the ambitious curriculum, high expectations for behaviour, effective leadership and management, and the inclusive and supportive Sixth Form provision. Staff are supported through professional development and a strong emphasis on collaboration.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Food and Design Technology lessons to KS4 (KS5 is desirable).
* Teach GCSE Resistant Materials / Engineering Design where appropriate.
* Contribute to maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (ECTs welcome) or fully qualified teacher.
* Ability to work within a vibrant and aspirational school environment.
