Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a background in mechanical engineering, proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, and proven experience in team leadership and technical development to support the business clients. This is full-time permanent role, Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30 and Friday 07:30-12:30. You will also be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet both internal and client standards. Key Responsibilities: * Work closely with the Project Management team, providing support to project engineers and attending client meetings when required. * Approve final drawings, technical documentation, and bills of materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness. * Take ownership of engineering calculations, material selection, and design analysis, using appropriate tools and methodologies. * Act as the technical authority across departments and take on a client-facing role in project engineering discussions. * Train and mentor engineering team members, offering guidance, technical appraisals, and support on large or complex projects. * Contribute to the improvement of existing products and the development of new engineering solutions. * Uphold and develop engineering best practices, including drawing development and design optimisation, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to stakeholders. * Collaborate with the Technical Manager to ensure smooth handovers from Sales to Engineering and alignment with project requirements. * Proactively manage company systems, ensuring that all records and documentation are kept current and accurate. * Ensure adherence to engineering procedures and lead continuous improvement efforts. A successful Senior Design Engineer will have have experience in leading engineering teams and delivering technically complex mechanical products. A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is required, along with strong knowledge of engineering standards, design tools, and project delivery.
