JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview
Technip Energies is seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer to join our Field Engineering team for the Net Zero Teesside Power project. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising subcontractors, ensuring the quality, safety, and timely execution of building and structural works in a complex, zero‑emissions power facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a pioneering project in sustainable energy.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervision & Oversight:
* Lead and supervise subcontractor activities related to building and structural works on‑site.
* Ensure subcontractors adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
* Coordinate daily activities, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues promptly.
* Quality & Safety Assurance:
* Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with design, safety, and environmental standards.
* Enforce safety protocols and promote a safety‑first culture among subcontractors and site personnel.
* Review and approve method statements, work procedures, and inspection and test plans.
* Technical Support & Coordination:
* Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Assist in resolving technical queries related to building works, structural interfaces, and design deviations.
* Support commissioning activities related to building and structural systems.
* Documentation & Reporting:
* Maintain detailed records of site activities, inspections, and non‑conformances.
* Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and as‑built records as required.
* Stakeholder Engagement:
* Communicate effectively with project management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
* Support integration of safety, quality, and environmental objectives across all activities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
* Proven experience in supervising subcontractors on large‑scale infrastructure or power plant projects, preferably in zero‑carbon or renewable energy sectors.
* Strong knowledge of building construction, structural works, and relevant codes and standards.
* Demonstrated ability to manage safety and quality in a construction environment.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
* Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.
