PURPOSE OF ROLE
To define and implement manufacturing process for the luminaires from the complete parts list (Bill of Materials) to step by step assembly instructions for production;
To implement changes to current products, aiming to improve efficiencies, progress manufacturability and work with the quality department to improve product quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Defining and recording product Bill of Materials.
· Creating and maintaining assembly instructions for use on the manufacturing lines.
· Building and testing prototypes and customer samples.
· Evaluating and implementing engineering changes as requested by other departments and always aiming for continuous improvement.
· Liaising with Design to implement new or bespoke products and improve product manufacturability and quality of current products.
· Providing technical assistance to production.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
· Good communication skills (written and oral).
· Confident user of MS Office package (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
· Organised and able to produce step by step instructions for product assembly.
· Remains focused under pressure and pays attention to detail.
· Takes ownership of work and asks for help when needed.
· Supports the team to achieve common goals.
Good to have
· Some knowledge of electronics, electrical installations and wiring will be an advantage, but training will be given.
· Quality systems, especially documentation control.
· Knowledge of assembly processes, preferably electronics or similar, although many skills may be transferable from other industries/roles.
· Experience of CAD (Solidworks) would be advantageous.
You will be self-driven, results oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. You will be a natural forward planner who critically assesses your own performance. You will be mature, credible and comfortable in dealing with people at different levels and will maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
Hours of work, Monday to Thursday 08.00 – 17:00pm, Friday 08:00 – 14:00
