Job Description
The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Teamcompetes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, uniting Lola Cars' legendary motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s cutting-edge technology, and the racing expertise of ABT Sportsline.
We are seeking a Senior Performance Engineerto join our trackside and simulator performance group. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or F2 to help extract the maximum from our car, tools, and team.
Key Responsibilities
Support simulator sessions, test days, and race events as part of the performance engineering team.
Analyse simulation, simulator, and on-track data to deliver actionable insights and performance recommendations.
Contribute to decision-making during events through focused analysis and performance feedback.
Support ongoing simulator/simulation correlation efforts through detailed analysis and model refinement.
Communicate clearly and effectively with engineers, drivers, and technical staff.
Help develop and improve in-house performance tools (Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar).
Candidate Profile
Required:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in performance engineering within a high-level motorsport environment.
Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and race performance engineering.
Expertise with motorsport data analysis tools – ideally ATLAS.
Experience with vehicle dynamics simulation tools – ideally Canopy.
Precise, methodical, and analytical approach to engineering tasks.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially under time pressure.
Nice to Have:
Advanced coding skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
Experience working with simulator and simulation model correlation.
Previous Formula E experience is a strong asset.
Education & Background
Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, or Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Proactive and self-motivated mindset.
Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to team collaboration and performance development.
