Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves the development of technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, supporting a range of bespoke engineering projects. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers to ensure high-quality design, efficient procurement, and successful project delivery.

Some travel to client sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities

· Produce 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks.

· Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and installation teams to develop practical and cost-effective design solutions.

· Liaise with suppliers to source materials and components, negotiating for the best pricing and lead times.

· Ensure that all designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.

· Assist in site surveys and support project installations as required.

· Maintain accurate project documentation and support design revisions throughout the project lifecycle.

· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design and fabrication processes.

Qualifications & Skills

· Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Design Engineering, or a related field.

· Proficiency in SolidWorks (2D and 3D design experience essential).

· Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

· Previous experience in the construction, agricultural, or quarrying industries is desirable.

· Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
