Attribution Search is partnered with a leading multi‑manager hedge fund to appoint a Core Operations Analyst focused on post trade t+1 trade flow and reconciliations.
This hire forms part of a wider initiative to enhance in‑house control and oversight of core operational processes currently supported by external providers. The fund is currently running a substantial initiative to bring more core operations in house.
The firm operates a sophisticated, high-volume trading platform supporting Portfolio Managers across a broad range of strategies and products. This role offers hands-on ownership of complex reconciliations, deep-dive break investigation and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders as the firm strengthens its internal infrastructure.
The team is not separated by product, the new incumbent will cover every asset class across all strategies.
The Role
As part of the Core Operations team, you will take day-to-day responsibility for the integrity of trade and position data across the firm’s trading activity.
You will play a key role in a major reconciliation uplift project, helping to transition and optimise processes that have historically been handled by third-party vendors.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform detailed daily reconciliations across trades, positions and cash, with a strong emphasis on complex, manual trade flow.
* Deep-dive into reconciliation breaks, identifying root causes and driving timely resolution with internal teams and external counterparties.
* Review, challenge and enhance reconciliations and reports received from third-party service providers.
* Support the build-out, refinement and documentation of in-house reconciliation processes and controls as part of a wider transformation project.
* Collaborate with technology, middle office, fund accounting and prime brokers to streamline workflows and improve straight-through processing.
* Contribute to ad-hoc project work relating to systems enhancements, new product onboarding and process migration from outsourced vendors.
Experience & Background
* Solid experience in trading operations, middle office or core operations within an asset manager, hedge fund, prime broker or similar environment.
* Strong reconciliations background, with comfort handling complex, non‑standard/manual trade flows and resolving breaks end‑to‑end.
* Good product and trade lifecycle understanding across listed and OTC instruments.
* Proven ability to work with high volumes of data and strong attention to detail.
* Experience engaging with third-party administrators or outsourced service providers is advantageous.
* Exposure to reconciliation tools, with experience of Gresham/Clareti or similar platforms considered a significant plus.
Contract Details
* Initial 6–12 month contract with the potential for extension or longer-term opportunities, reflecting the scale and strategic importance of the project.
