Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (M&E Works) Location: Wolverhampton Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) packages on various construction projects based from our Wolverhampton office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of M&E works, ensuring best value and robust cost control from procurement through to final account. Key Responsibilities: Manage all cost aspects relating to M&E packages, including procurement, tendering, budgeting, and valuation. Prepare and analyze costings for tenders and contracts. Administer subcontractor and supplier accounts, including payment notices, variations, and final accounts. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and design teams to assess project requirements and ensure alignment with budgets. Monitor progress on-site and provide commercial support to ensure project delivery within budget. Identify and manage risks and opportunities relating to the M&E scope. Support value engineering exercises and contribute to design development from a commercial standpoint. Ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation (e.g., NEC/JCT contracts). Produce detailed cost reports and forecasts for senior management. Requirements: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, with proven experience in M&E works. Strong understanding of building services, including mechanical (HVAC, plumbing) and electrical systems. Familiar with relevant contract forms (JCT, NEC) and strong contractual awareness. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with QS software (e.g. Bluebeam, CostX, Causeway) is advantageous. Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
