Horizon Teachers is partnering with a warm, inclusive primary school in Brent seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in Year 4 who has learning difficulties.
The successful candidate will provide tailored support to help the child access the curriculum, develop confidence, and make progress across all areas of learning.
This is a highly rewarding Teaching Assistant role, offering both professional growth and the chance to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey.
This role is starting ASAP and will continue until July 2026 on a full-time basis, offering up to £575 per week.
Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one support to the Year 4 pupil, adapting resources and support as needed.
* Assist in planning and delivering differentiated tasks with the class teacher to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
* Support the pupil in accessing class lessons, small group work and activities.
* Help reinforce speech, language and communication targets, where required.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to class teacher and SENCo.
* Support behaviour management and help maintain a calm, positive learning environment.
* Assist with general classroom duties, resource preparation, and supporting other pupils as needed when appropriate.
What We’re Looking For in a Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
* Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly learning difficulties / speech & language needs.
* Strong communication skills; able to build rapport quickly with children and with teaching staff.
* Ability to work well both independently (1:1) and within a team.
* Patience, resilience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
