About the role
Known internally as a 'Spills Lead'; this is an exciting opportunity to work with the data relating to water spills across our region, working with data reported in from ASPIRE and “Rivers and Seas Watch” when there have been overspills from rainwater.
This will be both a reactive and pro-active role; reacting to when there is heavy rain fall and large quantities of data to analyse, as well as being proactive taking a wider view of what this data means, analysing trends in the data and working on continuous improvement efforts.
These activities will drive the step change required to enable the near time notification to the public facing “Rivers and Seas Watch” app to verify the genuinely of spills, you will provide operational MI to enable Southern Water’s zero non-compliant spills strategy to be realised and align with longer term strategic goals of spill forecasting.
This role will also require undertaking root cause analysis of spills and interact with wider industry and peers to understand best practice and innovation.
You will be liaising with third parties regarding spills, providing requested data and offering advice based on findings.
