The starting salary for this position is £41,585 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

This is an 6 month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity.

We are looking for a new Community Resilience Support Team Leader to support the Community Resilience Support Team to support the offering of a multifaceted support function to Surrey Fire & Rescue Service Prevention and Protection Teams.

About the Role

This is a high-impact role which offers a significant opportunity for someone to advance their Line Management and leadership capabilities through direct influence and strategic collaboration. The secondment demands close, effective engagement with senior colleagues across Community Protection and Prevention, Business and Community Safety, Safeguarding, Fire Investigation, Children & Young People Services, as well as internal and external partners. Success in this position will depend on your ability to lead decisively, manage complex priorities, and deliver measurable outcomes.

This role is responsible for five Community Resilience Administrators, focusing on managing team performance and productivity while ensuring statutory administrative obligations are met promptly. The position involves organizing and chairing team meetings, conducting one-to-one sessions, initiating performance conversations, and coordinating staff schedules, annual leave, absences, and expense reporting. During periods of staff sickness or annual leave, the role requires effective delegation and workload planning to maintain team resilience.

Other key responsibilities include:

10. Lead recruitment, training, and development for all team members
11. Attend Leaders Forum and share relevant updates with the team
12. Support progression of the P&P project and application functions
13. Ensure quality assurance of team outputs and regulatory correspondence
14. Manage employer partnership accounts and access to industry guidance
15. Coordinate actions from Fire Safety Managers and Community Safety meetings
16. Analyse workforce data and present findings to support strategic decisions
17. Process statutory tasks related to Building Regulations and Licensing
18. Provide high-quality administrative support including documentation management
19. Organise quarterly CPD events and share ongoing development opportunities with the Protection team

Further duties include undertaking risk management procedures, particularly in relation to MDIA's, and performing quality assurance checks on the Incident Recording System (IRS). The individual will act as the primary point of contact for general enquiries directed at the team and will also support financial requisitioning activities.

20. High level of computer literacy including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM 
21. Effective communication, organisations and time management skills.
22. Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and to meet tight deadlines, anticipate obstacles to progress, suggest and implement solutions, and follow through with accuracy. 
23. An understanding and commitment to maintaining confidentiality, the handling of highly sensitive material 

It's worth noting that this role will be directly line managed by existing post holder enabling support and guidance.
