Title and Summary
The Director, People Business Partner, Core Payments, has primary responsibility for advancing a comprehensive talent strategy, which addresses all aspects of the employee lifecycle and organization design and development, in support of business-wide strategic goals and performance. Core Payments is the foundation of Mastercard, focusing on seamless and secure payments through its products and platforms, as well as real-time payments capabilities. Core also includes innovation in acceptance, consumer value propositions, and optimization capabilities.
The portfolio for this role includes Acceptance and Merchant Solutions, encompassing Enterprise Gateway Solutions and acceptance capabilities. The People Business Partner will design and implement strategies supporting these areas, aligned with the overarching strategy of Core Payments and Mastercard. This position reports to the EVP, People & Capability, Core Payments.
Role Responsibilities
* Develop and implement talent strategies and initiatives for the assigned portfolio.
* Act as a cultural change agent, consultant, and business advisor to leadership, enabling strategic execution.
* Partner with Centers of Excellence and regional People Business Partners to enhance organizational efficiency.
* Advocate for employees, developing initiatives to boost engagement, development, and productivity.
* Manage P&C activities including strategic alignment, leadership development, succession planning, organization design, compensation, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and coaching.
* Manage employee relationships proactively, ensuring compliance with local laws and practices.
* Partner with Finance on budgeting and forecasting related to P&C activities.

* Proven ability to advise senior leaders and coach employees on strategic people and culture initiatives.
* Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
* Ability to develop and execute strategic visions and plans effectively.
* Business acumen with project management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Self-motivated with agility to drive initiatives quickly and efficiently.
* Knowledge of local employment laws and practices.
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
