Job summary
Providing patients with a friendly and confidential service for the booking of their appointments and handling of their general queries. Also responsible for supporting Doctors, Nurses, other members of the primary health care team and visiting clinical specialists with the smooth running of their clinics. Carrying out day to day tasks as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the practice and adhering to the practice procedures whilst doing so.
Key Tasks
* Booking appointment for patients
* Care Navigating patients to the appropriate services within the practice
* Dealing with general enquiries from patients and identifying those that can be dealt with immediately and those that need another staff member to be involved
* Carrying out the daily tasks set by the Team Leaders
* Managing time and workload efficiently
* Assisting with the smooth running of clinics and surgeries
* Providing help and advice to all visitors to the surgery and the building
* Dealing with repeat prescriptions and prescription queries (where training has been provided)
* Attending training and staff meetings as required
* Dealing with tasks that clinicians may assign in an effective and timely manner
* Covering colleagues' shifts at either surgery in the event of absence or holiday
* Effective communication between staff, the practice, patients and other agencies
* Knowledge and implementation of the practice protocols and procedures
* Supporting the Reception Team Leaders with other reasonable duties as required
* Follow the practices Infection Prevention & Control policies and protocols
* Administrative duties including scanning documents onto System One

Friendly, helpful and efficient with patients, practice staff and the partners. Team player and willing to be flexible when necessary. Able to strictly observe patients' rights to confidentiality. Committed to contributing to the provision of high quality and patient-friendly services. Able to provide a high level of customer service. Experience in a similar setting would be advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential qualifications and experience include:
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Experience of working in a busy environment
Desirable: Experience of working in a healthcare setting.

Working pattern: Hours on a rota basis between 7.30am and 6.30pm, may include weekends. Minimum weekly hours as stated in contract.
Salary: £12.21 per hour
