Are you an experienced Community Nursery Nurse with a passion for child health and development, looking for new opportunities within the Health Visiting Service? If so, Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust are looking to recruit you for the role of Community Nursery Nurse.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team delivering care to babies, children and their families, ensuring that their health and developmental needs are prioritised.
* Offer evidence‑based professional advice, guidance and support to parents and families relating to the prevention and maintenance of health and development.
* Make contact with and support all parents to make informed choices regarding feeding and implement plans to enable parents to initiate and establish feeding their baby regardless of their chosen feeding method.
* Refer promptly and accurately any problems identified during an assessment or home visit to the health visitor and any other agency as appropriate.
* Offer advice and support to groups/individuals on specific aspects of childcare (e.g. infant feeding, oral health, weaning, sleep, behaviour management, speech and language, potty/toilet training, nursery/school readiness).
* Contribute to the organisation and running of Well Baby Clinics across Sandwell.
* Liaise with Best Start Family Hubs, nursery providers, public health, libraries, charities to support the needs of parents, children and families.
* Undertake home visits in line with Lone Working Policy.
* Work closely with health visitors and report any concerns following contact with families in a timely manner.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and utilise them effectively.
