A fantastic Special Educational Needs and Disabilities school in Oldbury is working in partnership with Aspire Education Recruitment Agency to recruit passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants. We are looking for both qualified and unqualified teaching assistants to join a dynamic and supportive team, with the opportunity for a permanent position after successful completion of the probation period.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with supporting students in the classroom, particularly with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities).
Work with students across all key stages, ensuring their educational, social, and emotional needs are met.
Support teachers in delivering tailored learning plans and activities.
Foster an inclusive environment and support learners with behaviours that challenge.
Help students with personal care as required, promoting independence and self-confidence.
Collaborate with other members of staff to create a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
Contribute to the overall wellbeing of students in and outside of the classroom.
Use a range of communication tools & strategies to support non-verbal children.
Ideal Candidate
Experience working with SEND students is desirable but not essential.
Qualified or Unqualified Teaching Assistants will be considered.
Positive, resilient, and patient attitude, with the ability to motivate and support students.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to deal with behaviours that challenge.
Willingness to undergo a DBS check (a clear, up-to-date DBS is preferable, but we can help arrange a new one if necessary).
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative environment.
A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) and learning.
