Overview

The Emergency Services Network (ESN) is a huge strategic priority for BT and our commitment to do the best for our customer and our country. ESN will be one of the most advanced Emergency Services Networks in the world. BT is the official supplier providing mission critical and trusted communications for Britain's Emergency Services. The ESN will replace the existing Airwave network and build upon EE's 4G network to provide essential new voice, data services, and critical communications services to 300,000 frontline emergency service users. You will be crucial to supporting the delivery of mission critical infrastructure, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across BT Networks and the Home Office. You will be responsible for the capex accounting, budgeting, and internal and external reporting. The successful candidate will be cleared to BPSS (or equivalent) as a minimum and may be required to undergo National Security Vetting (e.g. CTC, SC or NPPV).


Responsibilities

* Production of insightful analysis on Capex, including performance to budget and outlook for review by the Financial Controller & Director
* Running and managing the ESN depreciation model, including calculation of the depreciation accrual
* Month end journals and processes, including refreshing ESN database and month end reporting files
* Control ESN Capex spend to meet company objectives, unit cost risks & opportunities clearly understood, aligned with programmes databooks
* Ensures governance activities are processed on time and in compliance with the contract. Continuously improve ESN capex and depreciation processes, working with the Finance Business Partners and other stakeholders

* This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week. Requests for part time or compressed hours working would be considered.


Qualifications

* Suitable candidates will be part qualified accountant working towards full qualifications
* Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects
* Comfortable working with large volumes of data
* Possess bold and confident thinking with a proven background of challenging the status quo where appropriate
* Background in financial reporting, analysis and systems
