We're looking for positive, passionate people to help combat criminal activities that affect the insurance industry. Our successes directly contribute to our customers' premiums, keeping AXA a market-leading insurance provider. This role is within our Counter Fraud department, which focuses on tackling fraud in the insurance sector.
As a Counter Fraud Investigator, you'll manage investigations, provide expertise on complex cases, and employ best practices to minimize the company's exposure to fraud. You'll also develop technical skills among staff and enhance current processes to strengthen our fraud control environment.
At AXA, we promote a flexible working environment, allowing our employees to balance home and office work. Initially, you'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, increasing to three days (60%) towards the end of 2025. 'Away from home' includes attending offices, visiting clients, or industry events.
What you'll be doing:
1. Detect, defend, and deter commercial motor claims fraud involving suppliers, customers, and third parties.
2. Manage a portfolio of suspected fraudulent claims, using investigation techniques to gather evidence and secure appropriate outcomes.
3. Share intelligence with industry contacts and undertake proactive inquiries based on data analysis.
4. Assist police with criminal prosecutions by preparing statements and presenting evidence in court.
5. Analyze trends in repudiation, walkaway rates, and fraud savings to identify opportunities for process improvements.

What you'll bring:
* Practical claims experience is essential; counter fraud and personal injury claims experience are desirable.
* Knowledge of claims reserving, assessment methodology, and insurance principles.
* Understanding of legal liability, litigation, and claims process, including quantum assessment.
* Experience interacting with agencies like IFIG, FOS, Police, and others.
* Awareness of broker and corporate environments.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training such as the ACFS or Counter Fraud Investigator Apprenticeship.
* Excellent coaching, planning, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
This role requires eligibility and authorization to work in the UK.
This position is subject to background screening every four years, as per IDD regulations.
