St John the Baptist Primary School is a Roman Catholic primary school with a current roll of one hundred and sixty-eight pupils across seven classes. The school and nursery are located in Fauldhouse, West Lothian.
The Head Teacher, Principal Teacher and Acting Principal Teacher (PEF) form a strong extended leadership team along with an extremely committed and collaborative staff team. The key features of the school’s improvement work are raising attainment in literacy and numeracy and making improvements in health and wellbeing.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable pupil support worker to join our support team to support learning and teaching. The Pupil Support Worker will report directly to the Senior Leadership Team. They will provide a safe, secure and inclusive school environment that builds the confidence of young people to enhance their ability to learn.

This position requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The successful candidate will have three months to become registered with the Scottish Social Services Council as a support worker and to undertake a relevant qualification within a five year period. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act. From 28 February preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
