Description
Our supporters donate clothes, books, toys, household goods, and soft furnishings, which we sell in our shops and online. All proceeds support Blue Cross in caring for sick, injured, and homeless pets, helping over 40,000 animals annually through our rehoming, veterinary, and education programs.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will have a direct impact on our mission while working flexible, adhoc days that suit your lifestyle. You will lead our team of volunteers, ensuring excellent customer service to encourage community shopping and donations.
More about the role
In this Standby Shop Assistant role, you will support our in-store teams to ensure smooth shop operations. Your duties include customer service, stock management, and general shop tasks. Shops operate Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 17:00, and you will help maintain high standards of service and presentation.
This is a zero-hours contract with hours varying based on shop needs. We pay the National Living Wage (£12.21), with a total hourly rate of £13.69, including holiday pay. About you
We are looking for someone who:
* Has retail experience
* Is proficient in cash handling and reconciliation
* Has supervisory experience
* Enjoys customer-facing roles
* Possesses computer and administrative skills
It would be a bonus if you have experience managing volunteers.
