Colchester United Football Club is seeking a Full-Time Head Physiotherapist to join their team. Reporting to the Head Coach, the role involves leading and managing physiotherapy services, primarily for First Team Players.
The successful candidate will ensure effective injury prevention strategies across all squads in collaboration with the Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning departments. They will also develop and oversee training load, injury incident audits, and generate reports for coaching staff.
Role Responsibilities & Key Duties
1. Promote and safeguard the health and wellbeing of all players.
2. Ensure medical and physiotherapy coverage at all first team matches and training sessions.
3. Optimize player performance through timely and appropriate medical interventions, following rehabilitation plans.
4. Maintain accurate medical records compliant with legislation, protocols, and guidelines.
5. Contribute physiotherapy input within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, in consultation with the Head Coach.
6. Manage injured players' rehabilitation pathways with open communication among all involved parties.
7. Utilize the latest research to uphold high standards of assessment and treatment.
Candidate Requirements
* Membership of a recognized physiotherapy association (CSP and HPC).
* A physiotherapy degree from a recognized institution with the right to work in the UK.
* Current ATMMIF qualification or equivalent approved by The Football Association.
* Up-to-date professional development record.
* Experience working as a physiotherapist in a sporting environment.
* Motivated, excellent communicator, passionate about professional football, with drive and enthusiasm.
* Valid UK driver’s license.
The role requires a DBS check. Salary is offered at £40,000–£44,000 per annum.
